About UnixFlux — the observatory behind the integer

There is nothing to sign up for at UnixFlux. It is a Unix timestamp converter, it does one thing — converts Unix timestamps to UTC and local time and back, supporting seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, plus batch parsing and six world time zones — and it gives you the answer without first asking who you are.

Why we built this

Most developer tools online spend more screen space on advertising and consent banners than on the calculation. UnixFlux takes the other approach — the tool does one thing, converts Unix timestamps to UTC and local time and back, supporting seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, plus batch parsing and six world time zones, and the page stays out of the way while it does. A narrow scope is easier to keep correct, too.

How the maths is done

Everything runs on your own device. When you use the tool, it detects the unit from the magnitude of the number, since a seconds value is ten digits and a milliseconds value is thirteen, then formats it in the selected zone so a log line and a local clock can be compared directly. Nothing about the method is hidden: if you want to check a result by hand, the description above is the algorithm the page actually uses, and every figure you see comes from it rather than from a black box.

Your data stays here

The timestamps you paste never leave your browser. There is no backend that receives them, no database that stores them, and no advertiser that sees them — so you can load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tool keeps working.

Who uses it

How this stays free

Advertising pays for the running of UnixFlux; nothing here is subscription-based. No advertiser is given the values you enter, and an advert appearing beside a tool is never a recommendation of it.
