Privacy Policy — last updated: October 2026
Last updated: October 2026
This is the privacy notice for unixflux.com, operated by UnixFlux ("we", "us"). It covers the information we deal with and the options open to you. Briefly: the timestamps you paste are computed locally and never leave your machine.
Which tool this covers
UnixFlux is a Unix timestamp converter: it converts Unix timestamps to UTC and local time and back, supporting seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, plus batch parsing and six world time zones. In practice, it detects the unit from the magnitude of the number, since a seconds value is ten digits and a milliseconds value is thirteen, then formats it in the selected zone so a log line and a local clock can be compared directly. This page should be read with that tool in mind, because the limits described apply to what it computes.
Everything the tool works with — the timestamps you paste — is handled locally. It is usually reached for things like batch-converting a column of epoch values, and because nothing is transmitted a visitor can close the tab knowing no copy was made anywhere.
Data you give the tool
All processing happens on your device. Your input is handed to the page's own script, a result comes back, and that is the whole exchange. No request leaves your machine, and no copy of what you entered exists once the tab is closed.
How long data is kept, and how it is protected
Because your inputs are never transmitted, there is no store of personal measurements to retain or protect. Standard security practice applies to the site itself, including HTTPS on every page.
Children and the site
The site is not designed for, or marketed to, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your privacy rights
You may have statutory rights over personal data — to access, amend, erase or object to its processing, depending on your jurisdiction. You can exercise them by writing to us; in most cases there will be no stored data to act on.
Updates to this page
If the way we handle data ever changes, this page will be revised and the date at the top adjusted accordingly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
What is collected automatically
Delivering a page necessarily produces some technical detail at the edge: an IP address, a browser string, the path requested and when. UnixFlux uses that only to serve and protect the site. It is not stitched together with whatever you enter into the tool.
How cookies and adverts work here
Two things can set cookies on unixflux.com: our own consent flag, which remembers your answer to the banner, and the third-party advertising network, which may use them for interest-based ads. Refuse them all and the tool still behaves exactly as before.
How we measure usage
Analytics on unixflux.com are limited to counting: visits, a rough location and which tools are opened. The figures are aggregated rather than tied to a person, and none of them carries what you typed.
Code, config and payloads
Code and configuration dropped into a tool here do not leave the page. That is worth saying plainly, because the opposite is common, and a tool that uploads what you give it is a different proposition altogether.
How to reach us about privacy
